The Chinese characters for Tai Chi Chuan can be translated as the 'Supreme Ultimate Force'. The notion of 'supreme ultimate' is often associated with the Chinese concept of yin-yang . yin-yang two complementary. Yin is negative, dark, and feminine, Yang positive, bright, and masculine. Their interaction is thought to maintain the harmony of the universe and interdependent in the natural world to influence everything within it.

This natural see-saw effect is present in every life and in each person’s body. Equilibrium between yin and yang is essential to happiness and good health. As soon as you have balance of Yin and Yang, then you are health and strong.

   What is Tai Chi and History

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese tradition,  is a type of martial arts very well known for its defense techniques and health benefits. 
The phrase "t'ai chi ch'uan" translates to "supreme ultimate fist" or "boundless fist". 
The martial arts has evolved over  thousands of years,  into an effective means of alleviating stress and anxiety. It has been considered to be a form of 'meditation in motion' which promotes serenity and inner peace.

Tai chi exercise including, Balance, Muscle,  body coordination,    joint flexibility, endurance. Meditation, Practicing tai chi can obviously improve your overall fitness quality. it will make you feel calm, peace and healthy, energetic.

Tai Chi and TCM meridian, Tai Chi philosophy, five elements, health science.  Tai Chi and TCM is yin and yang movement, regulation of the human body's yin and yang balance, the smooth joint, dredges the  meridian,  stretches the physique, strong muscles and cultivating righteousness, to achieve internal and External reconciliation, and prevent diseases. The purpose of resisting exogenous evils and prolonging life. It is the combination of Chinese classical philosophy and TCM theory essence.   It also in Tai Chi.
Among the people who practiced martial arts, most people understand the theory of Chinese medicine, and at the same time, they also link the theory of Chinese medicine to the theoretical knowledge of martial arts and deepen the realm of martial arts. Any martial arts is about the direction of the meridians, as is Tai Chi.
In nature have metal, wood, water, fire and earth. The people have heart, liver, spleen, lung and kidney .There are balance between yin and yang is very important in the treatment of Chinese medicine. It is manifested as a negative factor that can cause disease and a positive factor that can resist disease. When negative factors predominate, the human body will become sick. Contrast, even if there is a disease, it will soon recover.  Practicing tai chi, request to understand the principle of tai chi, then the learn the tai chi principle is same time also learning chinease medicine principle. 
There are have a close relationshi between  tai chi and TCM.

Tai Chi is a mind-body practice that originated in China as a martial art. A person doing Tai Chi moves his body slowly and gently, while breathing deeply and meditation, including mindfulness and visual imagery. The fact that Tai Chi requires very methodical, low impact movements (Tai Chi is sometimes called "floating meditation").

 

Qi --- The Life Energy is "natural energy", "life force", or "energy flow".

Qi is to maintain life activities of the human body the most basic material.  Qi is in a state of continuous flux, transforming endlessly from one aspect of Qi into another. It is neither created nor is it ever destroyed; it simply changes in its manifestation.  If Qi and blood circulate have a problem or deficiency.  Disease resistance is poor.

Health=A Balanced Flow Of Qi and Blood.

The health of our body mind is dependent upon a clear, strong and balanced flow of Qi through the meridian system. Tai Chi and Qigong practice extend to every physical system of our bodies, to fully mobilize human instinct strength and a way of fighting against diseases and aging. Tai Chi also staggering of benefits most impressive is improved balance and flexibility. Strengthened muscular strength. Tai Chi and Qigong has been used extensively in China as part of traditional Chinese medicine.

The center for the Qi flow-- “ dan tian丹田”.  It is in the abdomen, a couple of inches below the navel, and that is also the position of the body's center of mass. This point works as a source, a starting point a center for the Qi flow.

When you practicing Tai Chi or Qigong, Breath naturally breathing from your Tantian. Through practice with every slowly and gently movement and posture body, your breath will begin to follow, your breath becomes part of the fluidity and unity of movement. your consciousness controls your brain, you will have an extended period of time to enjoy relaxation, tranquility your muscles will be relaxed and well-balanced. and naturally regulated nervous system circulation, body meridians and nerve conduction, which will significantly promote the body's blood circulation, open up your body's "​Qi Path. 

When practicing Tai Chi if you feel your fingers will feel tingle,  swelling, redness and your palms feel warm.  This is a sign that  your Qi is circulation through your body.
